Commissions and freelance projects

From logos, book covers, t-shirt designs to exhibition work, I’ve been commissioned and self-initiated many projects.

It has been my pleasure to work with Kate on creating the cover for a book we published in September 2020. This was a poetry anthology called broken lines /in charcoal, in which Kate also had a poem included. I found Kate to be enthusiastic, committed, and thorough. Her task was to produce some handwriting in charcoal, which would be incorporated into an image for the front cover. This proved to be a difficult and exacting task, which Kate worked at conscientiously. We were both very satisfied with the end result. -Kind regards Karen Zelas, Editor &Publisher, Pūkeko Publications. (Image taken by Pūkeko Publications.)

Working with Kate has been awesome. I come to her with vague ideas about album art or other designs and she brings them to life exactly the way I wanted. She's great for asking for clarification on designs and always goes the extra mile to make an excellent product. -Ari Holder https://soundcloud.com/ari-holder-74017563/albums?fbclid=IwAR1eXLy6wChDkcHN5mlRn3U4EKt_SAhvKIKMSiXDYO-vZrADB911Ky7qk_U

Recently Kate Rennie designed a concert poster for my band Fractus. She did an excellent job with the detail. She incorporated hand-drawn artwork by Torne Ponting and blended it seamlessly into the digital lettering for the poster. Kate also designed a band logo for the band and was able to create a high-quality image with a transparent background. This was enormously helpful as it allows us to now send our logo to promoters and event organisers. For example, we sent the logo to another band that we are opening for in April. They have added the logo to the poster they are making for the event. I can highly recommend Kate's skills as an artist and graphic designer. -Kind regards, Jack McCammon
Kate designed a logo for my freelance media business last year. They followed the brief I had given and gave useful suggestions that I took on board. Working with them was an easy and enjoyable process, and the end product was delivered early. I'm thrilled with the design and have had great feedback about it. -Arwen Miriama Sommer

Penny Lane records commissioned several students to create T-shirt designs for their store. This had to be a three-colour print job with the words ‘Penny Lane’ featuring somewhere in the Image. I decided to create a ghoulish design that was targeted towards post-punk, metallers and punks alike, whilst maintaining my style.
